BinderPOS is a point of sale and website for trading card game stores, now part of TCGplayer. It runs on Shopify: by its own description, all of its features need an active Shopify account. The facts above come from its own pages, with links, and the date we checked them.

When a store looks for something else

  • You sell video games and consoles too. Game Store Software was built for stores that sell a loose cartridge, a complete copy and a Pokémon single over the same counter. Every condition is its own item with its own price and tag. See trading cards and trade-ins.
  • You'd rather not run Shopify underneath your POS. Here the till, the stock and the online store are one system, and there's no commission on what you sell online.
  • You're in Canada. Interac and cards on the same readers, GST/HST/PST/QST by province, and prices in Canadian dollars. See card payments.

When BinderPOS may suit you better

If your store sells only trading cards, already runs on Shopify and leans on selling through TCGplayer in the US, BinderPOS was built for exactly that, and its TCGplayer integration is something we don't offer.

Questions

Do I need Shopify to use Game Store Software?

No. The till, inventory, trade-ins and online store are one system, so there is no separate store platform to pay for or keep in sync.

Can I bring my stock across from BinderPOS?

Yes. Export your inventory to a spreadsheet and import it as opening stock. Rows are matched to the catalog by barcode or by title and set, and anything else comes in as your own item.

Is BinderPOS a bad choice?

No. It's a well-known tool built around trading card games and TCGplayer. If you sell cards only, already run Shopify and sell on TCGplayer in the US, it may suit you well.

30-day free trial. No card needed. For stores in Canada.
