Game Store Software works inside ChatGPT and Claude. Ask in plain words, from the counter or the stockroom, and the assistant looks it up or makes the change in your own store, with your own role.
What you can ask
- Stock and prices: "How many Mario Kart 8 Deluxe do we have, and what's it priced at?" It searches your inventory by title or SKU and shows each condition with its price and count, stock per location, recent price changes, and the market value and suggested price from the price guide.
- Buylist offers: "What do we pay for a loose Chrono Trigger?" It finds the title in the price guide and gives your cash and store-credit offer for each condition, from your own trade-in bands.
- Trade-in quotes: "Start a trade-in with two loose Super Mario 64s." It puts the items on a draft trade-in at your offers, ready to finish at the counter.
- Price changes: "Bring our Pokemon 151 booster bundles up to the suggested price." It shows each old and new price first and only changes them after you say yes. Each change is logged and the shelf tag is queued for reprinting.
- Stock corrections: "One Tetris has a cracked label, take it out of stock." Each correction carries a reason and shows up in the item's stock history.
- Sales: "What sold this week?" Recent sales with their items, and for managers and owners the sales report for any date range.
Connect it
You need a Game Store Software staff account in at least one store.
ChatGPT: Settings → Apps & Connectors → Advanced, turn on Developer mode, then create a connector with the URL https://app.gamestoresoftware.com/mcp and OAuth sign-in.
Claude: Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector, with the same URL.
When it asks, sign in on Game Store Software's own page and press Allow. The assistant never sees your password.
What it can't do
It works only in the stores your account belongs to, with the role you have there. It can't take payments, refund, pay out or finish a trade-in, see customers' email addresses or phone numbers, or change staff, settings or billing. Lowering a price needs a manager or owner. What it changes is logged under your name, like a change made at the till.
Questions
Is it in the ChatGPT and Claude directories?
Not yet. Until it is, add it by its URL as a custom connector, as described on this page. It works the same way.
Can the assistant see other stores?
No. Every request is checked against the stores your account works in, with your role in each, the same way the point of sale checks it. Nothing from any other store is ever returned.
Can it lower a price or give stock away?
Staff can raise prices; lowering one needs a manager or owner, as at the counter. Every price change shows the old and new price and waits for your yes. Stock corrections need a reason and are logged like any other.
Can it pay out a trade-in or take a payment?
No. It builds the trade-in quote at your buylist prices. Paying the customer, checking ID and finishing the trade-in happen at the counter, and it can't take payments, refund or change staff or billing.
How do I disconnect?
Remove the connector in ChatGPT or Claude. To cut off every connection at once, use "Sign out everywhere" on the Connected apps page in the point of sale (app.gamestoresoftware.com/connect).
