The short version

BinderPOS is a point of sale for trading card stores, owned by TCGplayer and built on top of Shopify. Game Store Software is one system for the till, stock, trade-ins and online store, built for stores that sell video games and consoles as well as cards.

One thing has changed recently: TCGplayer's BinderPOS page says it is pausing new seller onboarding and sign-ups. If you're opening a store or shopping for a POS today, BinderPOS isn't an option until that reopens.

Where BinderPOS is stronger

  • TCGplayer. BinderPOS is part of TCGplayer, with a TCGplayer integration for US stores. We don't sell on TCGplayer for you.
  • Card price data. Singles and sealed databases with automatic price updates every 12 hours.
  • Built for TCG singles first. If cards are your whole business, its tools are aimed squarely at you.

Where Game Store Software is stronger

  • Games and cards over one counter. A loose cartridge, a complete copy and a Pokémon single, each condition its own item with its own price. See trading cards.
  • Trade-ins. Cash or store credit offers from your own price bands, bulk cards by count, and graded cards by cert number. See trade-ins.
  • No Shopify underneath. The till, the stock and the online store are one system, with no commission on online sales.
  • Canada. Interac and cards on the same readers, sales tax by province, prices in Canadian dollars. See card payments.

Who should pick BinderPOS

A card-only store that already runs on Shopify, sells through TCGplayer in the US, and is already a BinderPOS customer or on its waitlist.

Who should pick Game Store Software

Stores that sell video games and consoles alongside cards, stores that would rather not run Shopify underneath their till, and Canadian stores. Compare plans and pricing, or read how to switch from BinderPOS.

Questions

Can I sign up for BinderPOS right now?

Not as a new store, as of October 21, 2026. TCGplayer's BinderPOS page says it is pausing new seller onboarding and sign-ups, and offers a waitlist form instead.

Does BinderPOS need Shopify?

On the Binder plan, TCGplayer says all features require an active Shopify account. On Binder Pro, the ecommerce features do. Game Store Software has its own online store on the same stock as the till.

Which one is better for a trading card store?

If you sell only cards, already run on Shopify and sell on TCGplayer in the US, BinderPOS was built for you, and its TCGplayer integration is something we don't offer. If you also sell video games and consoles, or you're in Canada, Game Store Software fits better.

How do I move from BinderPOS?

Export your products from the BinderPOS portal, rename a few columns, and import the file. Our switching guide has the exact steps, tested on a local build.

30-day free trial. No card needed. Canadian stores sign up today; US stores join by invite.
