A game store's counter is busy in ways a generic POS doesn't expect: one customer buying three used games in different conditions, the next trading in a stack of cards and walking out with a console on store credit.
Scan and sell
Every condition of every item has its own SKU and tag, so scanning the tag rings up exactly what's in the customer's hand, at the right price. Search by title when a tag is missing. Graded slabs are scanned by their cert number, so the exact slab is marked sold.
Take payment any way
Take cash, card, Interac, store credit and gift cards, alone or split across one sale. Cash totals round to the nearest five cents the way Canadian cash does, and the change due is right there on screen.
Discounts, refunds and approvals
Set how much discount a cashier can give on their own. Anything bigger, and every refund or void above your threshold, asks for a manager's PIN on the same screen. Each approval is single-use and recorded against that sale.
Close the day with a real count
Open each drawer with a counted float, record paid-ins and paid-outs, and close with a count. The Z report shows sales by payment type, refunds and whether the drawer is over or short.
Park a sale, find a customer
Park a sale while a customer keeps browsing and pick it up on any till. Attach a customer to see their store credit, points and want list, and add points to their account as they buy.
Questions
Which payment types can I take?
Cash (rounded to the nickel), card and Interac on a Stripe reader or your own machine, store credit, gift cards, or any mix of them on one sale.
Can cashiers give discounts?
Yes, up to a limit you set. Bigger discounts, refunds and voids ask for a manager's PIN on the cashier's screen. The manager doesn't need to log in.
Does it work if the internet goes down?
The offline till keeps selling for cash or on your own card machine, and syncs the sales when the connection is back.
